Techbar for Atera

Privacy Policy

Overview

Techbar for Atera ("the app") is a macOS app developed by Dakabi LLC ("we", "us"). This page describes what data the app handles and where it goes.

What we collect

Nothing. We do not operate any server. Techbar never sends your Atera data, your API key or any usage data to us or anyone else.

Your Atera API key

The API key you paste is stored in the macOS Keychain on your Mac and sent only to Atera (app.atera.com) with each request, as Atera requires. Disconnect in Settings → Data source deletes it from the Keychain.

What Techbar reads from Atera

Using your key, Techbar reads your customers, devices (agents), open alerts and tickets from Atera's API, including device names, IP addresses, operating systems, hardware details, alert titles, ticket titles, end-user names and the technicians assigned to tickets. It shows them in the app and keeps the latest copy, and the last few notifications it posted, in memory only.

When you change a ticket's status, reassign a ticket or dismiss an alert, Techbar sends that change to Atera. Open in Atera opens the page in your browser.

What's stored on your Mac

  • Your API key, in the Keychain.
  • Your settings: data source, refresh interval, notification preferences and which technician is you.

Deleting the app deletes its container and everything in it; the Keychain item can be removed with Disconnect first. Sample-data mode uses bundled, made-up data and makes no network connections.

Notifications

If you allow notifications (Techbar Pro, or sample data), the app asks macOS for permission. Notifications are created on your Mac from the alerts it reads; nothing is sent to a push service.

Purchases

Techbar Pro is sold through Apple's In-App Purchase system. Apple processes the payment; we never see your payment details. Apple's privacy policy applies.

What we don't use

  • Analytics or telemetry
  • Advertising networks or identifiers
  • Crash-reporting services
  • Cookies, web beacons, or tracking
  • Third-party SDKs of any kind

Children's privacy

Techbar is a tool for IT professionals and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone.

Changes to this policy

If the app's data handling ever changes, this page will be updated and the "Last updated" date revised.
